Christoph Sauser Biking

Itinerary

Christoph Sauser, born in 1971 in Switzerland, started a biking tour on May the 24th 1995.
I started in Burgdorf (Switzerland), went on to Berlin, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and St. Petersburg, where I arrived on June the 20th of 1995. I continued my route through Kazan', Omsk, Irkutsk, Ulan Ude. On September the 6th 1995 I already had a total of 10'000 km. After going through Ulan Bator (Mongolia), Beijing (China), Wuhan, Guilin, I arrived in Macau on December tI 4th 1995, where I spent one month, with a stay in Hongkong and went on to Hanoi (Vietnam), Savannakhét (Laos), Thailand, Vientiane (Laos), and back to China (Jinghong - Dali). From Dali, I went to Lhasa (Tibet), totalizing 20'000 km by bike on May the 23th 1996, just one year after I had left Burgdorf. Next destinations were Kathmandu (Nepal) and New Delhi (India). Here I did a stop of two months before I went to Varanasi and Calcutta, then back to New Delhi, Islamabad (Pakistan), Kashgar (Kashi) (China), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). After Tashkent (Uzbekistan)- Samarqand - Bukhoro- Teheran - Istanbul, I cycled through Greece, Macedonia, Yugoslavia, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria and arrived back in Burgdorf after cycling 40'389 Km october the 4th 1997.

From Dali to Lhasa (ca 2000 Km) I cycled with Janne from Sweden (Singapur-Sweden) and from Calcutta to Erzincan in Turkey (ca 11000Km) with Daniel from Switzerland (Anchorage-Ushuaia-Australia-Asia-Switzerland). The rest I cycled alone.
